As the redevelopment of the Sarasota Quay property inches closer, the future of the 1925 Belle Haven building, just over the fence from the vacant former Quay site and from the Hyatt Regency hotel, will come into focus.
In the Belle Haven, developer GreenPointe Holdings of Jacksonville has the opportunity to find a new use for the pink Mediterranean Revival building as part of the master plan for the 14-acre waterfront property vacant since 2007.
It won’t be easy, experts in the adaptive reuse of historic buildings said at a recent convention in New Orleans.
