The Hallandale Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (HBCRA) has opened its hurricane shutter and impact glass program for the fiscal year 2026-2027, providing assistance of up to $10,000 for eligible homeowners looking to protect their residences against hurricanes.
The benefit covers the installation of storm shutters or impact-resistant glass windows and doors in owner-occupied properties within the CRA district, which is bounded to the north by Pembroke Road, to the south by the line between Miami-Dade and Broward counties, to the west by I-95, and to the east by NE 14th Avenue.
The program is aimed at homeowners whose family income does not exceed 80% of the median for Broward County, set at $102,500 for 2026 according to the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development. For a single-person household, that threshold is equivalent to an annual income of $71,000.
The property must be the applicant’s main residence and cannot be rented. Mobile homes and commercial buildings are excluded from the program.
