The City of Delray Beach is seeking an Economic Development Manager to lead and implement business and economic development initiatives focused on downtown revitalization, corridor enhancement, business attraction, retention, and entrepreneurship support.

This position works closely with the CRA, Downtown Development Authority, Chamber of Commerce, developers, business owners, and regional partners to advance the City’s economic development goals and special projects.

Under the direction of the Assistant City Manager, this role develops and executes economic development strategies and programs with a strong focus on business growth, redevelopment, workforce development, marketing, and community partnerships.

πŸ›  Key Responsibilities

β€’ Develop and implement business attraction, retention, and expansion strategies
β€’ Coordinate with the CRA, DDA, Chamber of Commerce, and regional agencies
β€’ Assist developers and businesses with zoning, incentives, redevelopment, and regulatory processes
β€’ Prepare reports, presentations, databases, and economic development materials
β€’ Manage economic development programs and special projects
β€’ Support entrepreneurs, startups, and small business development initiatives
β€’ Respond to inquiries regarding economic trends, development opportunities, and market data
β€’ Create marketing strategies to attract targeted industries and investment
β€’ Prepare developer and tenant recruitment packages and Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
β€’ Serve as a liaison between the City, businesses, developers, and community stakeholders

πŸŽ“ Minimum Qualifications

β€’ Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, economics, marketing, urban planning, finance, or related field
β€’ Minimum of three (3) years of experience in economic development, redevelopment, or community development
β€’ Master’s degree preferred
β€’ IEDC Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation desirable but not required
β€’ Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related business software
