A ribbon cutting and ceremonial time capsule installation recently marked the opening of The Arcadian, a mixed-use residential development at 640 NW 7th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale’s Sistrunk District. The project delivers 502 apartments across two eight-story buildings and represents a major investment in attainable housing and commercial activity, supported in part by a $10 million contribution from the Fort Lauderdale Community Redevelopment Agency.
Mayor Dean J. Trantalis joined city and county officials, CRA leadership, and the development team for the event, held along the project’s pedestrian Paseo. Speakers included Trantalis, Commissioner Steven Glassman, and Fuse Group co-founder Eyal Peretz.
Led by Fuse Group and KREA Developments, The Arcadian includes studios, one- and two-bedroom units, with 151 apartments designated as attainable housing for households earning 100% to 120% of the area median income. The development also features approximately 15,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space for neighborhood-serving businesses and a 629-space structured parking garage.
Following the ribbon cutting, a time capsule was installed on-site and is scheduled to be opened in 2051, symbolizing the long-term vision for revitalization in the Sistrunk District.
