The Pompano Beach City Commission is preparing to authorize up to $137 million in long-term financing for construction of a new City Hall and parking garage, a centerpiece of the city’s ongoing downtown redevelopment.
The proposal, to be discussed at a special joint meeting of the City Commission and Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) on Wednesday, would allow the city to issue a series of certificates of participation to fund the new civic complex. The 30-year financing plan carries an estimated maximum annual debt service of $9.6 million, according to city documents.
The joint meeting begins at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, in the City Commission Chambers, 100 W. Atlantic Blvd. If approved, the financing and design approvals would position developers to move forward with construction in 2026.
