The City of Kissimmee, in partnership with the Downtown Kissimmee Community Redevelopment Agency (DKCRA), is launching the Residential Property Improvement Program (RPIP), a new grant initiative aimed at supporting residents of single-family or duplex homes within the DKCRA boundaries.
The RPIP provides a 50 percent matching, reimbursable grant up to $5,000 for eligible property improvements. The program’s objective is to promote the preservation and beautification of historic neighborhoods within Downtown Kissimmee. The types of improvements covered under this program include:
- Exterior Painting: Costs associated with painting and preparation, including pressure cleaning and fascia repair.
- Landscaping Improvements: Installation of new irrigation systems and related enhancements.
- Porch/Deck Repair or Addition: Repairs or new additions of porches or decks at the front of the house.
- Exterior Lighting: Installation of new lighting fixtures; repairs are not covered.
- Driveway Repaving or Resealing: For resurfacing driveways.
- New Doors, Awnings, and Windows: Installation of new doors, awnings, and windows.
- Removal of Front Yard Chain Link Fence: Includes taking down chain link fences from front yards.
