In a significant move towards addressing the challenges of affordable housing in Fort Myers, the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Selection Committee has identified a developer for a new housing project named White Coral. The selected site, located at 2200 Jaylen Watkins Street, is poised to welcome 26 single-family homes designed to bolster homeownership opportunities for low and moderate-income families.
Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties, Inc., stood out as the sole applicant committing to bring the White Coral project to fruition. Following a meticulous review and scoring process, the Selection Committee was impressed, awarding Habitat’s proposal an outstanding average score of 91.4 out of 100. This selection underscores Habitat for Humanity’s mission and their commendable track record in supporting affordable housing initiatives.
