Michele Hylton-Terry
Executive Director
Fort Myers Community Redevelopment Agency
Q: What is your best piece of business advice for a new FRA member?
Michele: “The best business advice I would offer is to be intentional and focused on the goal you are working to achieve. It’s important to understand that it may not come together as fast as you would like; however, if you stay on purpose, you will achieve success.”
Q: If you had a superpower, what would it be and why?
Michele: “The superpower I would want is the ability to get people to talk openly and honestly. I believe that if we are willing to take the risk and share our ideas with each other, we would find we have more in common than not, and we would find we are more alike than different.”
Q: We are going out for dinner/entertainment in your CRA District. Where are we going and why?
Michele: “That’s a tough question because we have soooooo many great options. It would really depend on what you’re in the mood to have. You can find great seafood, Italian, Mexican, and standard American fare in our historic downtown.”
Q: What do you hope to be remembered for?
Michele: “I would want to be remembered for improving the quality of life for the citizens that most feel left behind; we all deserve a life we can love.”
Q: What is the most exciting part of being in redevelopment?
Michele: “The most exciting part of being in the redevelopment industry is to be able to influence and implement projects and programs in our community that raise the standard of living for our citizens and create lasting transformational change.”
