Beneshea Frazier
Program Manager, Economic Development
Central Florida Regional Planning Council
Q: What is your best business advice for a new FRA member?
Beneshea: “Get out of your comfort zone and engage with your colleagues. The academy courses and annual conference are great opportunities to grow your network and leverage the expertise of your peers in a meaningful way. Share your ideas with other professionals and ask questions. You will learn how your peers are successfully implementing programs and projects that are ultimately contributing to the growth and development of their community.”
Q: If you had a superpower, what would it be and why?
Beneshea: “My superpower would be speed and agility. I’d like the ability to be flexible and adaptable while at the same time tackling programs, projects, and problems as swiftly as possible.”
Q: We are going out for dinner/entertainment in your CRA District. Where are we going and why?
Beneshea: “There are so many CRAs within the Central Florida region! If I had to pick just one, I would say we’d head over to the Lakeland Downtown Community Redevelopment Area for the dining options, growing arts and entertainment scene, and walkability.”
Q: What do you hope to be remembered for?
Beneshea: “I am a firm believer in being authentic and intentional. I hope to be remembered for the connections I have built with people over time, both personally and professionally.”
Q: What is the most exciting part of being in redevelopment?
Beneshea: “Effectively engaging with communities to develop projects that stimulate job creation and retention, enhance transportation, preserve and support open spaces, and improve the quality of life for residents.”
