The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) is pleased to announce the availability of funding for non-entitlement units of local government under the Florida Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. DEO will make Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2019 funding available for the Neighborhood Revitalization, Housing Rehabilitation, Commercial Revitalization and Economic Development program areas.
The FFY 2019 application cycle for all the above-mentioned categories of funding will open on August 19, 2020, and will close at 5 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) on October 5, 2020. The application form, the FFY 2019 Small Cities CDBG program eligible communities list and other relevant information will be available on DEO’s website at www.FloridaJobs.org/CDBGApplicantInfo prior to the opening of the application cycle.
Application submission requirements are specified in the Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) and are also available at www.FloridaJobs.org/CDBGApplicantInfo. Due to social distancing restrictions, submission options are slightly different than in past cycles, so please pay special attention to the NOFA instructions.
DEO will hold an Application Overview teleconference meeting on August 18, 2020, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) that will provide an overview of the process and eligibility requirements. On August 25, 2020, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET, an Application Workshop teleconference will provide detailed technical assistance on the completion and submission of the application.
