The University Area Community Development Corporation (University Area CDC) has been awarded a 2017 Top Workplaces honor by The Tampa Bay Times, from results based solely on an employee feedback survey.
“This award, coming as it does from our employees, reinforces why we spend extra effort rewarding our hard-working staff and ensuring that they feel valued,” said Sarah Combs, University Area CDC CEO and executive director. “Providing a culture where everyone here feels connected, empowered and respected is very important to us at the University Area CDC.”
In the survey, administered by research firm WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, several aspects of workplace culture were measured, including alignment, execution and connection, among others.
One of the aspects of the University Area CDC culture that employees especially value is the feeling of mutual respect between employees at all levels. Some specific examples include flexible work hours; employee appreciation and celebratory events and encouragement to use company time for free yoga and exercise classes at the on-site fitness center.
