Fort Lauderdale officials will consider four big development applications, including an apartment tower near the river and a hotel just off the beach.
All four applications will go before the city’s Development Review Committee on Jan. 10 as the first step in their approval processes.
In the largest project, the 488 Residences at Riverwalk would rise 37 stories at 444 S.W. 1st Ave., which would be renamed 488 S.W. 1st Ave. The 26,291-square-foot vacant site is owned by SWFLB LLC, managed by Jim Ellis of Ellis Diversified. It acquired the property for $2.2 million in 2015.
Designed by Built Form Architecture with landscaping by TBG, the 488 Residences would total 582,455 square feet with 362 apartments, 6,200 square feet of ground-floor retail, a 10th-floor amenity deck and 363 parking spaces. The units would have glass balconies.
Ellis and his development attorney, Nectaria Chakas, couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
