The shuttered Fashion Mall in Plantation could spring back to life after the Plantation City Council approved a $300 million redevelopment plan for the 32.1-acre site on Nov. 30.
Art Falcone, CEO of Boca Raton-based Encore Housing Opportunity Fund, said he plans to break ground on the mixed-use project in the second quarter of 2017. It would ultimately feature 700 apartments, 225,000 square feet of commercial/retail space, and 250,000 square feet of new and renovated office space. It would total 1.35 million square feet of development at 321 N. University Drive.
