West Palm’s code-enforcers have been testing their new noise-meters prior to issuing any fines to bars or restaurants that blast their music.
And the results are in: A lot of Clematis Street venues can expect fines if they don’t change their tune when the city commission votes Nov. 9 to start enforcement and calm the rattled nerves of nearby condo residents.
Tests conducted from Aug. 28 through Oct. 11, from 8 p.m. to 3:45 a.m. registered 160 violations.
One bar was by far the worst offender, according to Development Services Director Rick Greene: Off the Hookah, at 314 Clematis, had 51 violations, or 31.9 percent of the total of 14 locations tested.
