SARASOTA – Hoyt Architects has created a bright, modernist rendering for a new, 10-story, mixed-use apartment building to be built on Second Street in downtown Sarasota.
The firm said permits for staging, foundation and demolition have been issued for small buildings at 1401 and 1445 Second St., the latter formerly occupied by United Way before being bought by entrepreneur Jesse Biter. The block is immediately north of the 100 Central condominium and Whole Foods Market and northeast of Selby Library.
The as-yet-unnamed building is being developed by Carter, a real estate investment, development and advisory firm in Atlanta, and Hunt Investment Management. It will contain 180 luxury rental units and 15,000 square feet of Class A retail space.
