WEST PALM BEACH — A north side advisory board for West Palm Beach’s Community Redevelopment Agency voted Friday not to pull money from its budget for a Northwood learning center hoping to get a $175,000 grant to expand, but instead to ask that the CRA come up with the cash.
On Friday, the advisory board that focuses on Northwood and Pleasant City voted to ask the CRA to approve the $175,000 grant the Center for Creative Education wants.
“Let’s go get that money,” board chair J. Russell Greene said.
CRA executive director Jon Ward said the request most likely won’t go before city commissioners, meeting as the CRA board, until their March 2 gathering. Commissioner Sylvia Moffett, who was sitting in, said she’d try to at least bring up the issue at the CRA board’s meeting Monday.
