Talking turkey about CRAs in Florida and Fernandina Beach
The Fernandina Beach City Commission, acting as the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), and its advisory board (CRAAB) came together on June 13, 2013 for a work session intended to de-mystify CRAs and discuss issues related specifically to the Fernandina Beach waterfront CRA. The session was led by Carol Westmoreland, Executive Director for the Florida Redevelopment Association (FRA) and facilitated by senior city planner Kelly Gibson. Mike Zaffaroni, CRAAB chair, moderated the panel discussion. Nassau County Economic Development Director Steve Rieck also participated in the panel discussion. City Manager Joe Gerrity and several of his staff attended as well as City Attorney Tammi Bach, City Clerk Pro Tem Kim Briley and two members of the public.
