Empty storefronts, a common sight during and after the Great Recession, are a thing of the past on Park Avenue.
Retail space along the city of Winter Park’s well-known shopping street is fully leased for the first time in more than 25 years, according to Winter Park Land Co. An Ethan Allen retail-design center will occupy what had been the final vacant spot, at 329 N. Park Ave., real-estate broker Pitt Warner said. Warner said that even in boom times, “there were always one or two spots that never seemed to get leased.”
But does the avenue portend a broader economic recovery? “Maybe it’s a leading indicator or an anomaly,” Warner said. “We just don’t seem to know.”
