COMMUNITY GROUPS USE ART TO BEAUTIFY CONSTRUCTION FENCE
The West Atlantic Redevelopment Coalition (WARC) and Milagro Center to install children’s artwork on fence banners of CRA-owned site
DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — The Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), West Atlantic Redevelopment Coalition (WARC) and the Milagro Center will unveil a collaborative project of artistic fence banners to be installed on the CRA-owned 805 West Atlantic Avenue (northwest corner of West Atlantic and NW 8th Avenues) on Wednesday, June 26th at 10:00 am.
The site previously contained a gas station, and contamination was identified at the time of the CRA’s acquisition of the property in 2006. The site is currently under soil and groundwater remediation which will take approximately 2 to 4 years to complete. The banners will be in place during the remediation in an effort to beautify the existing condition of the site and represent community-driven cooperation between the CRA, WARC and the Milagro Center organizations. The unveiling is a photo opportunity to the public and a showcase of the Milagro Center students’ artwork.
