Merger Creates the Largest Florida Appraisal Institute Chapter
The West Coast Florida Chapter joined with the Northwest Florida Chapter, effective April 1, 2012, as the Florida Gulf Coast Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. It extends from Collier County along the Gulf of Mexico to Escambia County at the western boundary of the state. With over 625 members, it is the largest Appraisal Institute chapter in Florida and one of the largest chapters in the U.S. The national Board of Directors of the Appraisal Institute approved the merger in February 2012. “As one of the largest chapters in the Appraisal Institute, our members are diverse and have extensive local knowledge of the real estate markets. This merger further supports the strength of the Appraisal Institute, as a leader in providing Real Estate solutions,” said David Lemonde, SRA, Chapter President and Principal of Lemonde Valuation Services of SW Florida, Inc. in Englewood.
The chapter holds four quarterly meetings and offers many educational offerings to satisfy Appraisal Institute and state designation, licensing and continuing education requirements. Its website is: http://www.gulfcoastai.org
