Mount Dora Creates More Business Incentive Programs
MOUNT DORA, FL – The City of Mount Dora has added more business development incentives to go along with the current programs offered. The combination of programs greatly reduce and in many cases eliminates development and building fees.
New and existing commercial properties within the two CRA districts have the opportunity to have city impact fees waived, building permit fees reimbursed up to $5,000, facade grants of up to $5,000 and property tax exemptions for certain businesses that creates new jobs. Lake County also has a moratorium of transportation impact fees which makes this the perfect time to renovate or expand your current business or move it to Mount Dora.
Under the impact fee and development review fee waiver program, the City will waive water, sewer, police, and fire impact fees for new non-residential development projects within the Downtown and Northeast CRA Districts. Also included is the waiver of the $2,000 site plan review and $1,000 minor site plan fee.
The facade grant program is an easy way to spruce up the front of a new or existing business and makes a lasting impression. Eligible reimbursements include but are not limited to painting, new windows, exterior doors, awnings, lighting, and landscaping.
“These fee waivers make it easier for small businesses in our downtown and neighborhood commercial areas to get started. Anything that can help reduce the upfront costs for a new business will help ensure their continued success.” Mayor Robert Thielhelm stated. “These fee incentives will save a small business thousands of dollars; this is good for the entire City.” He continued.
