A trolley ride from CityPlace to Clematis Street just became more prestigious.
The Florida Redevelopment Association honored West Palm’s Downtown Development Authority with the “Annual Award for Project Excellence in Transportation Enhancement.”
West Palm was one of numerous cities around the country last decade to receive a grant to fund downtown trolley service.
The DDA was also awarded two “SUNsational Awards” by the Florida Festival and Events Association for the “Downtown’s Holiday Kaleidoscope.” The brochure, produced by the Carey O’Donnell PR Group, won best brochure for $24,999 and under.
The other “SUNsational Award” was for best partnership award after the DDA teamed with Devine Style, Inc to host Fashion Rocks Palm Beach in March on the waterfront.
“We are always working to implement projects that enhance economic growth, culture and the overall quality of living and visiting Downtown, so we’re happy to show that these programs are making a real impact on the community,” said Raphael Clemente, interim director of the DDA. “We’ll continue to explore interesting and innovative opportunities to bring more even more excitement Downtown.”
