The City of Kissimmee is requesting qualifications for the redevelopment of the existing Kissimmee Civic Center property into a hotel and conference center, located at 201 E. Dakin Ave. within the Downtown Kissimmee Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) area. The City’s Strategic Plan prioritizes the development of a hotel and conference center, to boost tourism, accommodate conferences and business travelers, and increase attractiveness to visitors, while creating jobs. The project will involve a partnership between the City and developer/hotelier, that will enable both entities to leverage each other’s strengths and resources to provide a comprehensive facility that provides services that meet the needs of the community. The project is expected to boost the City’s conference and trade show business, increase tourism and create jobs with the mix of accommodations, meeting space and amenities.
The City invites developers experienced in the development and operation of hotel and conference centers to submit their qualifications for the development of a hotel; and partner in the reimagining of the existing Civic Center into a modern conference center space.
