Anticipated Hiring Range: $30.33 – $37.91
DEFINITION: The purpose of this job/class within the organization is to promote the City with the goal to create a more diversified and sustainable community that will help to create increased investment and employment opportunities in the City of Deltona. This job/class works under administrative supervision, developing and implementing programs within organizational policies and reports major activities to executive level administrators through conferences and reports.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Not all-inclusive): Prepares, solicits, and counsels businesses to locate in the City. Confers with present business and commercial land owners for future development. Develops strategies to fulfill city needs to assist in business development within the City and work closely with Team Volusia to achieve new investments in our City. Works with agencies of workforce development to develop a skilled workforce with educational emphasis on school district and colleges/universities. Conducts research on businesses that are expanding and solicits businesses to locate in the City. Confers with business services providers to assist in business development and improvement.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Urban Development or closely related field. Requires four years’ experience in Urban Planning, Economic Development or closely related experience.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Requires a valid driver’s license in Florida.
