Planner II – Parks
Pay: $49,524.80 – $66,601.60
About Our Job
This is advanced professional work coordinating and managing a range of park planning projects, including long range planning and active projects, strategic planning and other park-related policy initiatives, working closely with other Park Planners, designers, other PRNR divisions, management and other departments. This position may assist with design, monitoring and coordinating park improvement projects as well as other countywide initiatives. The position has significant responsibility associated with developing and providing various forms of communications, including technical reports, public outreach/education, and excellent customer service for both internal and external stakeholders in order to provide education, receive input for park projects, support projects and initiatives, and engage the community.
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Planning (Urban, Regional, Environmental or Park) or closely aligned and related field and a minimum of four (4) years related professional planning experience. A Master’s Degree may substitute for one-year of the required experience. Park Planning experience can substitute for education on a on a year-for-year basis depending on the type of experience.
Preferred Qualifications: American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP); Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP); experience with GIS mapping, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and AutoCAD.
