Salary Range: $121,330 – $181,995

This position manages the day-to-day operations of the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) and directs and supervises its operations including but not limited to: urban planning, budgeting, capital acquisitions, business attraction, public relations, real estate negotiations, community relations, professional service contracts management and capital planning. Performs complex community redevelopment activities, implements, and manages various community programs within the CRA Districts.
The position reports to the CRA board and will work closely with CRA board members and City staff, in connection with new or contemplated capital improvements and long-range plans. It is responsible for facilitating, monitoring and ensuring that all projects are implemented in accordance with the goals of the CRA and City. The duties also include negotiating contracts, developing incentives, recruiting compatible development activity and supervising consultants. The incumbent serves as the City’s liaison to any CRA Consulting Firms as well as various partner agencies, community leaders, business and property owners.
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Urban and Regional Planning, Public Administration, Construction Management, Business Administration, Economics, or related field and five (5) years of experience in the public/private sector in urban housing programs (local, state, and federal), construction management, real estate, neighborhood revitalization, economic development or empowerment initiatives in underserved communities. The ideal candidate should have a strong background working on housing and economic redevelopment activities in depressed areas, possess strong community engagement skills to effectively build consensus among neighborhood stakeholders, the business community and government entities and be knowledgeable of the FSS Chapter 163, Part III, functions of Community Redevelopment Agencies. Master’s degree from an accredited college or university, Florida Redevelopment Association certification and experience working with the City’s CRA infrastructure is desirable.
A current and valid Florida driver’s license is required. For application purposes, a valid driver’s license from any state (equivalent to a State of Florida Class E) may be utilized; with the ability to obtain the State of Florida driver’s license within thirty (30) days from date of employment.
Depending on qualifications, the salary range for this position is: $121,330 – $181,995.
