Redevelopment Assistance Program (RAP)

Download: FRA Redevelopment Assistance Program

The Florida Redevelopment Assistance Program is a member service that provides assistance to Florida communities interested in beginning or strengthening a downtown redevelopment program. From one to three experienced FRA members will visit the community to address its downtown issues of concern.

Areas covered include how to establish a CRA, BID or other organization; methods of financing; market studies; how to set up loan programs; and working with the community’s public/private sectors for a successful downtown redevelopment program. Individual projects can also be addressed and may include suggestions for implementation, financing or problem-solving.
It is important to note that this is a volunteer program of the FRA membership. As such, it is not meant to replace the need for ongoing consulting, planning, legal, financial or other redevelopment expertise. The FRA hopes that by offering this technical assistance program, an exchange of downtown development ideas will be established between Florida’s communities for the preservation and promotion of our downtown areas.

If you are interested in participating in this program, please complete the FRA assistance service agreement/questionnaire (see reverse side). Include any background materials that would assist the FRA team member(s) in preparing for the visit. Also, please address any details to be considered, and include at least two alternative dates for the visit, the community group(s) to be addressed, and a recommended agenda for the visit.
