Position: Program/Project Coordinator Senior (Office of Economic and Small Business Development)
Job Description: The Office of Economic & Small Business Development is seeking a highly motivated candidate with exceptional organizational, communication and presentation skills that will be responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of a countywide apprenticeship initiative. The primary function of this position is the development and maintenance of relationships with Broward County non-profit organizations, service providers, business and industry groups, municipalities, and educational entities with the goal of aligning apprenticeship opportunities with employment needs, particularly in disadvantaged communities.
Illustrative tasks include identifying workforce and employment needs, meeting with service/educational/training/apprenticeship providers to gain an understanding of their programs, meeting with industry representatives to identify ways to spur employment within the County and reaching out to disadvantaged communities to promote apprenticeship opportunities. Specific to Broward County Government, the incumbent will partner with the Human Resources Division and other internal County agencies to create apprenticeship/training opportunities within the organization. Incumbent will report periodically on progress made in aligning workforce needs with apprenticeship/training programs as part of Broward County’s larger economic development effort.
Salary Range: $64,568.64-$103,051.50
Minimum Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business or public administration or closely related field. Requires four (4) years of experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity, managing special projects, programs or business operations in the area of apprenticeship/training/workforce development programs.
Or any equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.
